CSI Launches CDT courses on AEC Daily
The Construction Specification Institute and AEC
Daily launched the first of 10 Online Certified Document Technologist (CDT)
preparatory courses.

Alexandria, VA - October 20, 2005
The Construction Specification Institute and AEC Daily jointly announced the
launch of the first of 10 online
Certified Document Technologist
(CDT) preparatory courses.
The CDT program provides a comprehensive overview for anyone who writes,
interprets, enforces, or manages construction documents. Project architects,
contractors, contract administrators, material suppliers, and
manufacturers' representatives are all realizing the advantages of being
Construction Documents Technologists. The CDT exam is revised to reflect the
Project Resource Manual - The CSI Manual of Practice and MasterFormat
2004.
Until now, CDT courses were only available through live courses given by local
CSI chapters. "We considered creating online courses ourselves," said
Stacy Vail Director of Professional Development for the Construction
Specification Institute "but AEC Daily's experience means that CSI can
get construction education courses out to the industry quickly while making our
courses more widely available. With the release of the new CSI MasterFormat
2004, staying on top of changes in the construction industry is critically
important.
The CDT course series is only the first step. The Certified Construction
Specifier (CCS), Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), and
Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR) Programs will
follow.

Why Risk It? Don't Put Your Practice in
Jeopardy!
One mistake can challenge the viability of even the most
prosperous architecture firm. Risk management is a basic
component of the architecture profession. Negotiating sound
professional service agreements and managing the service
